We fit cosmetic dentures to replace missing teeth and provide you with a natural looking smile. Partial or complete dentures feature high quality teeth with a remarkably life-like appearance.
The beauty of dentures today is that they are designed to be comfortable and functional. They are very similar in appearance to natural teeth and can really improve your smile or facial appearance.
Why Get Dentures?
Complete dentures are used to replace missing teeth for people who have lost all their teeth due to decay or injury. Dentures may also be used for people who have lost several teeth. In this case, the appliance is called a partial denture or an overdenture. It is always extremely important to replace missing teeth. The ill-effects of not doing so can include an inability to bite and chew properly and a sagging facial appearance which can make you look older than you are. Our dentures will help to solve these problems and give you a natural-looking smile.
A step by step guide to dentures
Step 1
During your first appointment we will take a set of key measurements. This is to make sure that we can construct a denture which fits your mouth comfortably.
Step 2
To give you the best possible denture fit it may be necessary to take out some of your remaining teeth. We will only ever extract teeth when it is necessary to provide a better fit.
Step 3
If we have extracted any teeth we’ll make sure your mouth has time to heal. The healing process following tooth extraction usually takes 1 to 2 weeks.
Step 4
Fitting your denture is the most important step so please let us know if it is uncomfortable or doesn’t fit correctly. We can make adjustments to your dentures to make sure that they fit your mouth properly.
Step 5
After fitting and adjustment, you will be ready to wear your dentures. We will give you advice on how to take care of them and prolong their life. Keep your dentures clean – putting them in cold, clean water overnight prevents bacteria building up – and they will last much longer.
